I'm the founder of Elmaso Venture UG and CEO of ticura, a unified data platform for threat intelligence optimization based in Kassel, Germany.
I've been in IT since 2001 — starting with support, networks, and firewalls at a non-profit, which gave me a proper hands-on grounding before I ever touched enterprise scale. That curiosity for how things work at a deep level led me to IBM Security, where I spent 15+ years across the X-Force division and Research & Development. I worked as a Cloud Data Lake Architect and Privacy Focal, ran data center operations for IBM Security R&D, and got to work on some genuinely hard problems in threat intelligence and cloud architecture — contributing to several patents along the way.
Privacy and compliance have always been as important to me as the technical side. Whether it's GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST SP800-53, or PrivacyShield, I've worn those hats professionally for years — and I firmly believe that good data stewardship isn't a separate discipline from security. It's just the other side of the same medal.
Cybersecurity, data, AI — these are the topics that keep me up at night in the best possible way. I speak at events on these themes from time to time, and I genuinely love connecting with people both inside and outside the cyber world. There's nothing I enjoy more than sitting down with someone, really listening to what they're wrestling with, and finding a solution that's both pragmatic and a little unexpected.
In 2022 I co-founded ticura to rethink how organisations work with threat data. Elmaso Venture UG is my vehicle for company participations and building digital products I believe in.
